PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
PETE MCCARN, CFP®
Starting a new year is always exciting and uplifting to me.
I get a brand new chance to really do things well!

This will be a year of challenge. National political
machinations will confuse us while the markets provide
plenty of stimulation. Our clients will bring new needs to
us. New products and services will keep us on our toes.
Compliance procedures will require attention. New
legislation, too! There will be a lot going on.

My personal goal this year is to subdue the tendency to
treat everything that happens as equally important. Some
things distract me from my professional goal, which is to
provide a thoughtful, dependable, professional, fiduciary
service for my clients. Our work is important and I owe
them my best.

I also intend to be very involved in the Financial Planning
Association of North Alabama. Your Board has just
completed a very detailed Strategic Planning “Retreat”
which was most encouraging and inspiring to me. I am
convinced that this is the most dedicated and imaginative
board on which I have had the privilege to serve. It has
youth and depth, as well, and promises to provide
leadership for your FPANA for years to come. Each board
member is looking for committee participation, so please
step up and say what YOU would like to do.

“We are FPA” is more than just a slogan. It is a very real
truth!
