You are invited to a free, public service workshopsponsored by the North Alabama Chapter of the Financial Planning Association,the nation's largest not-for-profit association of financial planners.  No sales or products or services -- just information to help you find a "fire escape" so you can:

*    Learn what you can do to control your financial circumstances
      and how to do it
*    Create a step-by-step plan to get rid of debts
*    Develop a sound philosophy for savings and investments
*    Identify the resources you have available if you lose your job
*    Spot scams that do not have your needs and interests in mind
*    Discover tips for weathering this and other economic storms in life

 There will be a question and answer time at the end.

FPA of North Alabama was incorporated February 24, 2000. It resulted from a merger of the local International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP) chapter and the local Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) society. Headquartered in Denver, CO the Financial Planning Association (FPA) is a non-profit organization composed of individuals in or affiliated with the financial planning industry.

Today, we look to the future as the Financial Planning Association leads the financial planning profession into the new millenium. Locally, FPA of North Alabama is a more vibrant, dynamic association of financial planning professionals. The FPA will provide:

1) one industry voice,
2) a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among members,
3) ongoing training and educational programs for financial planners, and
4) the ability to promote and maintain high ethical standards for all of its members by supporting the CFP Board of Standard's "Code of Ethics".
